Event Date Jul 16, 2013

Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment (BTSA) is a California Department of Education (CDE) funded induction program accredited by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) to assist teachers in developing professional educator expertise and effectiveness to support student learning.

The RIMS-BTSA Induction Program is a consortium of school districts, charter schools, county offices, and non-public schools that provides a job-embedded route for eligible general education and special education teachers to advance from a preliminary or Level I credential to a clear multiple subject, single subject, or education specialist teaching credential with the support and guidance from an experienced educator and trained mentor.

Skilled credential advisors and district liaisons from consortium agencies are trained by RIMS-BTSA to identify eligible candidates, assist with program placement, monitor induction progress, and advise teachers of clear credential options.  This workshop will provide details about the advisor’s roles and responsibilities and the effective use of program forms and resources to assist candidates seeking an induction route to a clear credential.
