With the passage of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) by Congress last year, California is developing a new accountability system to ensure that California students are college and career ready. The goal for this Network is to collaborate with other principals of alternative schools from surrounding districts across Riverside County. The Network will work together to identify best practices that create a college and career focus, including increasing FAFSA completion rates, graduation rates and the percentage of students enrolling in postsecondary education. We will explore programmatic attributes present at various continuation sites across the county, learning from each other about ways to strengthen achievement, school climate, instructional practices, and learning outcomes for students.
