This session will allow participants the opportunity to experience a 5th grade level performance task based on the California's Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) Framework. This training will use grade specific Next Generation Science Standards performance expectations, as well as the three dimensions of the NGSS. The focus will be on formative assessments to provide context for grade level learning sequences that support the performance expectation. Connections will also be made to the Environmental Principles and Concepts, access, equity, and the California Standards for ELA and mathematics.
