Educators, get energized about UDL with this 2-day free boot camp!
Come participate in this highly interactive, hands-on and engaging boot camp focused on UDL! This two-day in-person workshop is designed to provide educators with a clear understanding of whyUDL is essential, how it incorporates research in learning and motivation, and what the actual framework entails. True to it’s name, this is intended to be a hands-on workshop where participants will engage in an iterative process of lesson design in collaboration with their peers, using a rubric to provide each other with mastery-oriented feedback in the refinement of their lessons.
Presenter: Dr. James McKenna leads the Inclusive Design unit, part of LACOE's Division of Curriculum and Instructional Supports. Inclusive Design supports the education of all students by focusing on critical aspects of inclusive learning environments. Inclusive Design has created the Universal Design for Learning Academy (UDLA), a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for implementing UDL at the classroom, site, and district levels. As lead, Dr. McKenna provides several options for the implementation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and also serves as one of five County Leads for the CA MTSS project.
