Event Date Sep 18, 2019
The intent of this meeting is for science middle school teachers to come together to network, and be informed about science assessments, science data, grants, instructional materials, research-based strategies, regional science education updates, upcoming events, hands-on activities, as well as vertical articulation opportunities with high school teachers. We will have guest speakers and experts bringing timely, pertinent information regarding innovative science education topics. The meeting will focus on STEM/STEAM initiatives, the Next Generation Science Standards, topics related to California Standards, and the ELD standards. We envision that these teacher leaders will go back and share this information with others in their school site. A “district science teacher leader” is a teacher, or department chair, who has been identified by the district office as their designated science representative.
