The Battle of Gettysburg is considered the turning point in the Civil War and United States history. Often referred to as the “High Water Mark of the Rebellion,” Gettysburg was the war’s bloodiest battle with 51,000 casualties. This sacred battlefield is the backdrop for the Leadership Institute of Riverside County’s Gettysburg Experiential Leadership Experience, an amazing opportunity for today’s leader. Our effort to study mistakes made by leaders from the past to help us prepare for leadership challenges now and in the future is the number one outcome of this experience. The Leadership Institute of Riverside County has partnered with Diamond6 Leadership to deconstruct the Battle of Gettysburg, the largest battle ever fought on this continent. The 5-day workshop begins with an overview of the battle and provides the background essential to understanding leadership decisions that were made there. Diamond6 faculty’s leadership background and military experience will provide participants with the best learning experience as we study leadership on these hallowed grounds. We will walk the battlefield and reflect on the actions and outcomes at important locales. Participants will draw clear parallels between the battlefield decisions made by commanders in history and the challenges confronting leaders today.
