This workshop, presented by Mario Lopez, LCSW, DCS, Psychological Innovative Programs, Inc. will provide attendees with the following tools surrounding teens self-injury:
* Identify twenty-eight reasons why teens self-injure and how to stop them from continuing to self-injure.
* Understand various brain chemistry that make self-injury an addiction and what to do about it.
* Understand automatic negative thoughts and methods to replace them.
* Identify stressors teens face and provide them with skills to manage them.
* Teach problem-solving skills to teens.
* Understand why teens need to have support systems and assist them in attaining them.
* Identify bullying and instruct teens on 21 ways to prevent and stop it.
* Assist teens to build a survival kit to replace self-injury.
* Assist teens to journal and document their experiences in the program, through a “ZINE” (teen participant handbook).
* Teach the program in a highly technological, innovative, entertaining, and teen friendly manner.
* Implement five stages of change to stop self-injuring.
* Receive step-by-step instructions on how to implement the entire program.
